Vodafone Idea has announced its latest integrated brand identity – Vi (read as ‘We'), using only the initials of both Vodafone and Idea. It is also shorter, clearer, and references all labels. The creation was shared during a livestreamed virtual conference which unveiled the new brand built for the digital age. After two years of the Vodafone and Idea merger on August 31 , 2018, and the new Vi brand highlights the final transition point.
Ravinder Takkar, MD and CEO of Vodafone Idea Limited, stated: "Two years ago, Vodafone Idea came together as a combined entity. Since then we have focused on the integration of two large networks, our people and processes. And today I am delighted to be presenting Vi, a brand that will bring significant meaning to our customers ' lives. Indians are ambitious and are keen to move forward in life. They 'd love a trustworthy partner to help them along this journey. Vi's positioning is based on this commitment and will concentrate on fulfilling the needs of the consumer to help them grow.
Takkar further added that Vi not only marks the completion of the world's largest telecommunications merger, but also kicks off a voyage to bring "world-class digital experience" to 1 billion Indians on 4G. The deployment of many 5 G architecture principles has helped the brand become a "future-fit, digital network" for the clients.
The company has also demonstrated a 'Happy Surprises' programme for spotting the new logo in the Vi app that rewards people with daily prizes. Mobile users can also create and download their own custom Vi Tune via the Vi app or MyVi.in.
Vodafone Idea is trying to keep its businesses floating in India after the Supreme Court gave telecom companies 10 years to pay adjusted gross adjusted revenue (AGR) last week.
Vodafone Idea declared on Friday its intention to raise up to 25,000 crore fresh capital to pay the heavy dues owed to the government. It plans by issuing shares and warrants to raise up to a maximum of 15,000 crore through debentures and an equal amount.
